Privacy Notice

This notice describes information that may pass through Cape May County Released Inmates, why it is used, and the choices available to visitors. Official jail, court, corrections, parole, and federal systems linked from the site have separate privacy practices.

Information That May Be Collected

A search entered in a third-party search box is transmitted to the provider that powers the tool. The provider, not this site, controls the resulting search, account process, price, and data handling. If a visitor sends a message, the submitted name, email address, and message content may be retained long enough to review and answer it.

Standard technical data may also be logged automatically. It can include an IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, and the time of a request. Cookies or similar storage can remember settings, measure traffic, support advertising, and help detect misuse.

How Information Is Used

Collected data may be used to operate and secure the site, answer messages, understand which Cape May release resources are useful, diagnose errors, limit fraud, measure traffic, and support the site's search and advertising services. Contact details are not used to impersonate a government office or to obtain a record on a visitor's behalf.

Service Providers and Disclosure

Information may be available to search partners, hosting and technical vendors, analytics providers, and advertising networks as needed for their services. Each provider applies its own policy. Data may also be preserved or disclosed when required by a valid legal order, to protect rights or safety, or to investigate misuse. The site does not receive custody records merely because a visitor types a name into a search box.

Cookies and Browser Choices

Most browsers allow a visitor to block or delete cookies. Doing so can affect saved preferences, analytics, advertising, or a third-party tool. Privacy controls, opt-out mechanisms, and “Do Not Track” treatment vary among browsers and providers, so use the controls supplied by the service that set the cookie.

Links to Official and Outside Sites

Links lead to Cape May County, New Jersey agencies, courts, NJDOC, NJSPB, VINE, BOP, ICE, and other outside services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's terms and privacy policy govern. This site does not control an outside page's forms, logs, security, availability, or retention.

Security and Retention

Reasonable steps are used to protect information under the site's control, but no website, email, network, or storage method can be guaranteed secure. Data is kept only as long as reasonably needed for operations, legal duties, dispute resolution, or security. Visitors should not send Social Security numbers, full criminal-history files, medical data, passwords, or other sensitive identifiers through a general message.

Children and Age Limits

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. It does not knowingly seek personal information from minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion where applicable.

Privacy Rights and Requests

Depending on applicable law, a visitor may ask to know, correct, or delete personal information submitted directly to this site, or may object to certain processing. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed. These rights do not let this private site alter a Cape May County, court, NJDOC, VINE, BOP, or ICE record. Requests about an official record must go to the agency that maintains it.
